No Cable and Conversion Loss Compared to an X-to-cable (X2C) adapter setup, the signal path introduces extra conversion loss: the Mimosa radio converts the electrical signal into RF energy, the X2C adapter converts it back into an electrical signal for coaxial transmission, the coaxial run adds cable loss, and a second X2C adapter at the antenna converts the signal back into RF energy—so each conversion adds loss on top of the coaxial cable loss, reducing overall link efficiency. Simplified Installation The twist-on interface mounts directly to Mimosa B6x/B5x/C6x/C5x radios, making it a straightforward antenna option for Mimosa X connector deployments, while direct mounting reduces unnecessary interconnects and potential points of failure to improve reliability and streamline field deployment for WISPs and integrators. Remote Relay Sites With a strong front-to-back ratio, the 1.2m dish helps limit unwanted signal pickup from behind the antenna—an advantage for remote relay sites and other less-crowded installations where cleaner RF conditions are easier to maintain.
